Site description
TotalEnergies' Site Restitution project in the southwest covers around 300 ha and began in 2012 just before commercial gas production was halted.
- First phase completed in 2015: 35 wells plugged.
- Second phase completed in 2020: dismantling of surface installations.
- Third phase (ongoing): land rehabilitation :
- 68 sites involved, covering more than 300 ha, including 60 ha at the Lacq plant.
- At the plant: 40 ha rehabilitated out of the 60 ha to be rehabilitated
- On the Champs (concessions): 99% rehabilitation completed for a surface area of 225 ha.
- Fourth phase (pilot): 230 kms of pipes to be cleaned and plugged.
This rehabilitation has enabled new factories to set up on the site of the Lacq plant (Toray, Alpha Chitin), as well as numerous photovoltaic projects. Some projects are already underway, but there are still a few plots of land available.

Local economic context and training opportunities
The region's industrial identity has developed thanks to the exploitation of the Lacq gas field and the thiochemical industry. To revitalize the industrial basin, Lacq has focused its development on new activities linked to the ecological transition, fine and green chemistry and energy.
Investment and location projects deployed in partnership with manufacturers (ZIBAC project, industrial projects, etc.).
Since 2021, the Lacq-Pau-Tarbes industrial region has been running a strategic human ressource planning to support the needs of manufacturers and strategic training projects for the employment area.
In the Lacq Basin, an employment unit has been set up since 2022 by France travail (France employment agency), GIP Chemparc and the urban area to build a concrete action program (e.g. jobdating, promotional video, etc.).
The region, which was awarded the "Territoire d'industrie Lacq-Pau-Tarbes" label in 2019, boasts a rich ecosystem enabling industrial companies to grow.
