73 hectares available
Site description
Created in 2005 by the Region, the Département and the Agglomeration, the Tarbes Lourdes Pyrénées “PYRENIA” airport joint venture has gradually created a 189-hectare ZAC (mixed development zone) around the airport runway.
This vast ZAC is already partially occupied by the aeronautical company TARMAC, which specializes in the storage, maintenance and dismantling of airliners.
However, there are still several areas where land is available in significant quantities. The site has been cleared of all appeals.
Location
Targeted activities for this site
The site can welcome innovative industrial activities (such as a Giga factory), requiring large amounts of land.
Located on the edge of the runway, the site can also accommodate aeronautical-related businesses.
Available infrastructures
- LV electrical network
- Natural gas network
- Connection to the RTE network (Electricity transmission system operator in France) under study
Accessibility and services
- Passenger railway station

Local economic context and training opportunities
This project is initially dedicated to aeronautical activities along the airport runway, in line with the existing industrial fabric (TARMAC AEROSAVE, DAHER, other Groups/SMEs).
To optimize land use, the Pyrénia syndicate is also looking for other large-scale industrial projects (large surface area available) where the ratio of jobs to surface area consumed is optimized.
Industry accounts for 20% of jobs in the region. On-site CFAI Adour (UIMM) for industrial trades, Tarbes National Engineering School, and IUT (University Institute of Technology), due to be transformed into the Tarbes Technological University in 2024. University hub with 6,000 students.
