Site description
The urban community's plan is to continue repositioning industrial activities on this site, which is partly in a Seveso zone. To achieve this, roads need to be created, and the rail tracks need to be restored. Work is underway with current and future users to pool roadways and utilities.
The site has a total surface area of 217 ha, composed as follows:
- Properties acquired by the communauté de communes :
- Rio Tinto/Al Pechiney industrial wasteland; 91ha 16a 01ca. Property subject to DUP.
- Célanèse industrial wasteland; 72ha. Land subject to DUP.
- Former MEAC property; 7ha 63a 62ca. DUP pending.
- Yara industrial brownfield, 46 ha under Elyse energy promise of sale. Yara is in charge of decontamination for industrial use.
- Pardies Energy brownfield site: approximately 1 ha abandoned by its owner. Seriously deteriorating.

Local economic context and training opportunities
Located in south-western France and connected to Europe, the Lacq basin is a major industrial hub for fine chemicals, green chemistry and energy, benefiting from a strong industrial culture.
Since 2021, TI Lacq Pau Tarbes has been running a strategic human resource planning to anticipate the needs of manufacturers and support the deployment of strategic projects to build training offerings tailored to the realities of employment areas. An operational employment unit was set up in 2022. A Campus des Métiers project is currently under development.
The region boasts 290 training courses.
