Site description
Located in a territory labelled 'Territoire d'Industrie' (French government program to support industry), the site is privately owned, but the project is supported by the Region.
Already built-up, the plot is intended to be densified with new industrial R&D activities and laboratories. Also open to applications for data centers and offices.
Excellent transport links (TGV station just a few meters away and freeway).
Institut Mérieux acquired the site occupied by Ecotox in the Rovaltain industrial zone in 2020, with the ambition of establishing a bioproduction facility for COVID vaccines using the Viral Vector technology of its subsidiary ABL. The project, conceived in response to the pandemic crisis, included not only an industrial component, but also tertiary spaces and laboratories.
Following a preliminary study phase, and given the evolution of the pandemic situation and the emergence of new technologies (messenger RNA), Institut Mérieux reconsidered its initial project. As a result, the site has remained “as is”, operational but devoid of activity, as it has been since its inauguration in 2017.
The project owner is looking for a prospect to set up an industrial activity on the site, in one of the sectors covered by the region's development strategy.
