Site description

Industrial brownfield site (former brickworks).

The Elpa site is a 60-hectare real estate complex, comprising 23,000m² of industrial buildings on a 20-hectare plot of land dedicated to a future industrial activity, and a 40-hectare natural area away from all residential areas in the Masevaux valley and Burnhaupt commune.

The renaturation and restoration of the natural environment of this former brickworks is at the heart of this project, located at the crossroads of major routes between Belfort Colmar Strasbourg, Germany and Switzerland to the north and Paris, Lyon, Marseille via the A36 to the south.

Zuber Laederich, a company specializing in the development of industrial sites in Alsace, is the owner of the site, and will be responsible for its economic reconversion. Once developed, the land and buildings will be sold or leased.

Local economic context and training opportunities

This project is part of a partnership with the local authorities over the last 10 years, in particular the Burnhaupt-le-Haut town council and the urban area, to redevelop the infrastructure of the neighboring economic zone and create an access to the ELPA zone that incorporates the urban planning modifications and regulatory constraints necessary for this type of operation.

Bordering on the Franche Comté region, this part of southern Alsace benefits from a highly skilled workforce with a tradition of craftsmanship and industrial know-how. It offers a variety of skills, flexibility and availability of qualified personnel that is less under pressure than the border zone, and enables young graduates to find rewarding, skilled jobs.
