Site description

Axtom ENR Aménagement has signed a promise of sale with Ford Aquitaine Industries in June 2023 for the conversion of its Blanquefort site, whose plant closed in 2019.

The site is currently being decommissioned. Demolition work has been completed. Remediation work has begun.

Axtom is carrying out a land development project on a 50 hectares land, to divide the site into 17 land parcels from 1 to 20 hectares, enabling the creation of 250,000 m² of floor space dedicated to economic activity, mainly industrial.

Targeted activities for this site

Mainly productive industrial activities, followed by buildings dedicated to craftsmen, VSE/SMEs, as well as a tertiary and service park to recreate an ecosystem within the industrial zone.

The general philosophy of the project is to create a collective project to serve the region and its reindustrialization. There are a number of ways in which the site can be set up.

Local economic context and training opportunities

The site is identified in the Bordeaux Métropole Economic Plan as having the ambition to host high value-added industries. The sectors particularly targeted are new energies and new mobility. More broadly, the Metropole is integrating productive activities into its strategy. The redevelopment of this site is part of this strategy.

The aim is to develop the site with a mix of building sizes. Large, small and medium-sized buildings will coexist to accommodate productive activities, particularly in the fields of production, cutting-edge technologies (R&D), local agri-food and the social economy. These are all fields in which the local training ecosystem is strong.
